This is the boat that fell off our trailer on the way back from San Diego Crew Classic, being laid down in the water at the regatta for the last race of its life as a shell. I’m threetard here.
The bow and stern are smashed from impact now. I feel like we should have some sort of decommissioning ceremony for it or something.
Part of me wishes that it was one of the womens team’s shells that fell off, since they’re NCAA/varsity/funded/oh-so-better-than-us-except-not-really and get their boats for free anyway. This is a huge blow for us as a club program.
A damn shame.

⚓Heyo. My name is Anna Paige Padilla and I still like to call myself a rower, even though I tore my Glenoid Labrum during Head of the Hooch 2012. I was told if I ever row again I will need surgery and even then I will never have proper use of my shoulder again. However, I am convinced I’m Sea Biscuit and that you’ll see me in a boat Fall 2013 at whatever college I decide to attend. I am not sure if I’ll be a rower or a coxswain in the scenario, but I’ll be something. I’m sure of it.

So yeah. I’m focusing on losing weight at the moment for my possible coxing career. I was a midget rower at 5’ 4” but I like to think I made up for it with heart and determination. I am (oh man… was) one of three Varsity Captains on Dallas United Crew and even though I’m not in a boat anymore… rowing is my life.

Besides rowing, things that make me happy are: lame puns, my cats Harmony (I couldn’t say Hermione when I was younger) and Mars, Harry Potter, Sherlock, The Office, rugby, the UK (but more specifically England) and books. (PS IF YOU HAVE A GOOD BOOK I SHOULD READ INBOX ME THE TITLE PLEASE) Hmm… what else. My oar’s name was Rupert, I’m exceptionally awkward, and I wrote a book about assassins. ⚓
